Jolyn Australia Sustainability Actions

Uses durable swim fabrics

JOLYN says it designs swimwear to last for years, not just one or two seasons. It says the fabrics resist chlorine, salt water, and sun fading, and that details like reinforced stitching and straps that spread tension help the suits hold up longer. The brand frames durability as part of its sustainability approach because clothes that last longer usually need replacing less often.

Uses recycled and regenerated fibres

The brand says some of its swim fabrics use recycled materials. It says Recycled Foreverever fabric contains 51% fibre from recycled water bottles. It also says its SeaFlex and SurfTec fabrics use ECONYL® regenerated nylon, which is made from nylon waste such as fishing nets and carpet waste. Regenerated nylon means old nylon is turned back into new fibre.

Uses certified mills and factories

JOLYN says its swimwear fabrics are made in knitting mills that meet the Global Recycled Standard (GRS), a certification for recycled content and related production checks. It also says its two main sewing facilities are WRAP certified, meaning they are checked for issues like forced labour, child labour, fair pay, working hours, and workplace safety. The brand says a smaller sewing site is inspected monthly for ethical and environmental practices.

Changed packaging materials

The brand says its outer shipping packaging is made from compostable plant-based material such as corn or potato starch and should break down within 12 months. It also says that, as of 2023, the inner sleeve used in its warehouse is made from recycled plastic. JOLYN says it is still looking for a better option than recycled plastic for that inner sleeve.

Supports ocean groups

JOLYN says it has supported Surfrider Foundation since 2020. It also says it sponsored the Changing Tides Foundation in 2023, with support focused on the WOMP (Women’s Outreach Mentorship Program), which works with underserved teen girls through mentoring, surfing, and education. These partnerships link the brand’s swimwear business with ocean protection and community support.
