Ingham’s Sustainability Commitments
2025
Women in leadership roles
Ingham’s says it wants women to hold at least 40% of leadership roles by 2025. This is part of its inclusion, equity, and diversity framework. The target is a clear future goal, and it is meant to improve representation in senior roles across the business.
2025
Fully recyclable packaging
The company says it aims for 100% reusable, recyclable, or compostable packaging by 2025. It also wants packaging to contain 50% average recycled content by the same year. These targets are meant to reduce packaging waste and increase the use of materials that can be used again.
2027
Health Star Rating target
Ingham’s says it wants all branded retail products to display a Health Star Rating, and where possible it aims for a minimum of 3.5 stars by 2027. The Health Star Rating is a front-of-pack label that gives food a simple nutrition score. This target is about making healthier choices easier for shoppers.
2030
Cut direct emissions
The company says it plans to reduce scope 1 and 2 absolute greenhouse gas emissions by 46.2% by 2030 from a FY19 baseline. It also says it will develop a scope 3 target by 2030. Scope 3 means emissions from the wider supply chain, such as feed, transport, and purchased goods. This is one of its main climate commitments.
2030
Source more green electricity
Ingham’s says it wants to source 75% green electricity by 2030. Green electricity means power from lower-emission sources such as wind or solar. The company has already started moving in this direction through its renewable power agreement in New Zealand.
2030
Reduce water intensity
The company says it plans to reduce total water intensity by 20% by 2030 against its FY19 baseline. Water intensity means how much water is used for each unit of production. This target is meant to lower pressure on water resources across its operations.
2030
Lower landfill waste
Ingham’s says it wants to reduce waste sent to landfill intensity by 20% by 2030 from a FY20 baseline. It also says it will keep improving packaging and waste handling. This target is about sending less waste to landfill and using materials more efficiently.
2030
Cover all suppliers
From FY24, the company says new vendors and existing suppliers with annual spend above $250,000 must sign its Supplier Code of Conduct, with all suppliers covered by 2030. This is a future supply-chain commitment aimed at setting common standards for business conduct and risk management.
