Upcycling textile waste

We’re proud to share that Bunko Junko has successfully delivered a bulk order for UnLtd India a collaboration that truly aligns with purpose-driven design and sustainability. Each piece in this order is more than just a product. It represents: • Textile waste diverted from landfill • Thoughtful upcycling into functional design • Livelihood opportunities for women artisans

Impact report collaboration

We are excited to announce our collaboration with EcoKaari™ - Humanising Fashion — a Pune-based circular economy brand that transforms plastic waste into handwoven products using traditional Charkha and Handloom, while creating livelihoods for women artisans across India. Our collaboration with EcoKaari will focus on two outcomes: → A Baseline Impact Report capturing EcoKaari’s environmental and social impact in a structured, credible format. → A B2C Impact Messaging Framework that helps consumers understand the real value behind every product.

Natural dye research

We evaluated the toxicity, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial activities, and textile stability of aqueous extracts from Nyctanthes arbor-tristis (Night Jasmine) flowers as a sustainable natural dye. Our findings are promising that, • Strong antibacterial and concentration-dependent anti-inflammatory properties. • Low toxicity with excellent safety profile. • Good color strength and fastness on cotton, silk, and polyester fabrics, especially with bio-based mordants.

Water-saving fabric

GlenGuard fabric is not only inherently flame-resistant, but it's also solution-dyed, meaning the color is part of the fiber. On average, a single garment made of solution-dyed, FR (flame-resistant) GlenGuard fabric saves 10 gallons of water compared to other FR fabrics, which are piece-dyed.

Wood-based fibres

#WoodYou wear a tree? At least 55% of textile materials are synthetic fibers made from fossil fuels. By choosing wood based viscose or lyocell fibers we can grow the solution. This wood-driven innovation is one of many that we are thinking about on World Creativity and #InnovationDay .
