Baukjen provides two product impact tools to support informed purchasing decisions: Impact Attributes, which highlight key features of a garment across its supplier, material and specific sustainability-related characteristics, and the Baukjen Sustainability Index (BSI), which evaluates environmental impact using Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) data, scoring products on a scale from 0 to 100.

UN Climate Action Award

House of Baukjen has been recognised by the UN within the ‘Climate Neutral Now’ category. As of 2020, House of Baukjen became carbon-negative across its entire supply chain and continues to work collaboratively with suppliers to help them become more sustainable, tackling inefficiencies and switching to 100 percent renewable energy.

Circle of Life initiative

In 2018, they launched their “Circle of Life” initiative whereby expectant mothers who placed an order with Isabella Oliver could mark the birth of their child by planting a tree in areas affected by deforestation or forest fires. To kick start the initiative, Isabella Oliver planted 1500 trees in areas of California affected by the forest fires, 100 trees for every year since the brand was founded.
