Cut Moose Jaw emissions
Gibson Energy said it plans to reduce absolute Scope 1 and 2 emissions at its Moose Jaw facility by at least 15% by 2025, using a 2020 baseline. Scope 1 and 2 are direct emissions and emissions from purchased energy. This is one of the company’s near-term climate targets.

Publish ongoing climate reporting
The company has committed to keep publishing sustainability and climate disclosures, including annual CDP climate responses and updated sustainability reports. CDP is a global disclosure system where companies report climate data to investors and other users. The content shows this reporting is part of its continuing ESG program.

Reduce overall emissions intensity
Gibson Energy has set a 2030 target to reduce overall greenhouse gas intensity by at least 20% from a 2020 baseline. It also aims to cut processing intensity by at least 40% and storage and handling intensity by at least 95%. These targets are meant to show how much emissions fall for each unit of activity.

Eliminate Scope 2 impact
By 2030, Gibson Energy says it will fully eliminate its absolute Scope 2 impact across the business. Scope 2 means emissions linked to the electricity or energy it buys. The company presents this as part of its wider path toward lower-carbon operations.

Reach net zero
Gibson Energy has committed to Net Zero by 2050 for Scope 1 and 2 emissions. In plain terms, it aims to balance the greenhouse gases it directly causes with removals or cuts by that year. The company says it expects to use existing technologies and not rely heavily on offsets or credits.
