Became a certified B Corp

In February 2024, FLOOR_STORY became a certified B Corp and joined a community of over 2,000 other companies in the UK that are committed to using Business as a Force for Good.

Published an impact report

After launching its first Impact Report in April 2023, FLOOR_STORY developed systems to track almost everything, from the quantity of wool used in all the rugs sold in one year to energy usage, recycling and charitable donations.

Hosted industry roundtables

Over the last 12 months, FLOOR_STORY hosted three roundtable conversations in its showroom to educate itself and its peers through the sharing of knowledge, and discussing ideas of how to work together to solve the biggest problems in the industry.

Worked with Label STEP

Each manufacturer that FLOOR_STORY works directly with is recognised by Label STEP for being a fair trade carpet maker. The company says it works with Label STEP on the ground to ensure fair trade compliance, and its director makes regular visits in addition to audits carried out by Label STEP.

Partnered with Ecologi

FLOOR_STORY’s partnership for impact projects with Ecologi continued in 2023. The company says its Climate Positive Workforce has planted over 1000 trees and avoided over 100tCO2e.

Addressed pre-consumer waste

With the aim of eliminating its pre-consumer waste, FLOOR_STORY partnered with Renée Materials to turn discarded materials into useful resources that lengthen the life cycle of the things that it cannot keep.

Started Designer Spotlight

FLOOR_STORY started its Designer Spotlight initiative in 2023, offering space in its showroom and on its online platforms to emerging designers.

Set anti-slavery policy

FLOOR_STORY says it fully endorses a procurement chain free from harm, forced labour or modern slavery, including THB. Suppliers sign a Code of Conduct and the company has a full Anti-Slavery Policy.
