Secured financing for Project Taft

Flatiron Energy has secured $540M in financing for Project Taft—Massachusetts’ largest planned battery storage site at 200 MW / 800 MWh. Set to go live in December 2026, the project will store enough energy to power 40,000 homes for a month, helping reduce reliance on gas peaker plants and support the state’s net-zero goals.

Built on repurposed industrial land

Project Taft is built on repurposed industrial land and located near key transmission corridors, described as a model for grid-scale storage.

Doubled credit facility

Flatiron Energy has doubled its credit facility from US$125 million to US$250 million with HPS Investment Partners, supporting development and construction of approximately 4.5GW/18GWh of utility-scale BESS projects in the Northeast US.

Community engagement role

Rosie Davies said she had started a new position as Sr. Manager, ISO-NE Community Engagement at Flatiron Energy.
