Sustainable finance refers to the process of taking environmental, social and governance (ESG) considerations into account when making investment decisions. Many initiatives have come into existence which provide a network and support for organisations that want to operate more sustainably. ESG frameworks help businesses assess their impact in three key areas: Environmental, Social, and Governance. The Australian Sustainable Finance Roadmap, released in November 2020, sets out a plan to reshape Australia's financial system and support a thriving Australian society, healthy environment and a strong and prosperous economy.
