The footwear sustainability group says it will hold a Shoe Innovation & Sustainability Summit on November 4, 2026 in Portland. The event is meant to help industry members think about and act on sustainability in footwear. It is a future-facing commitment to bring companies together around new ideas, but it is an event date rather than a long-term environmental target.

Footwear loop project
Fashion for Good says its Closing the Footwear Loop project is a major 2026 initiative. It brings together 17 fashion and footwear brands to tackle circularity, which means designing products so materials can be reused instead of thrown away. The goal is to move footwear away from the linear take-make-dispose model and toward a more circular system.
