English Tea Shop Sustainability Actions

Launched Prajāva Wellbeing

Launch of Prajāva Wellbeing at English Tea Shop in partnership with Pret A Manger. This holistic wellbeing initiative takes into consideration farmers, employees and community at large. It kicked off with a book distribution to one of the farmer communities, Pasanka in Nitolpitiya, Tangalle, Sri Lanka.

Supported farmers' children

280 farmers' kids received school supplies to start their new term in school, and this is the start to our Prajāva Wellbeing, in lending our support to our communities.

Reimbursed certification fees

On this occasion, we also reimbursed the certification fees to 69 farmers in the community to the president of the Farmer Association.

Improved irrigation access

We also got to visit one of our dear farmers, Mr. Premasiri, who harvests turmeric, blue pea, moringa and curry leaves to look at the developments over the years such as the installment of the tubewell to improve irrigation.

Raised homelessness awareness

Pret A Manger colleagues are taking part in the Lady Mayoress' Sleep Out to bring awareness to homelessness and raise funds to the Pret Foundation. Funds raised support Pret's rising stars program, offering support, training and employment to those at risk of homelessness.
