Published ESG reporting

Read the Responsible Business Report 2026. Energia Group says its commitment to Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles is central, shaping its current practices and future direction. Sustainability in everything it does is a strategic priority, and it is continuing to integrate ESG across its business activities.

Conducted materiality work

In 2022 it conducted its first Materiality Assessment for ESG related matters seeking the views of internal and external stakeholders. In 2023, it extended its Materiality Assessment approach to include detailed stakeholder interviews to garner greater insights into the views of stakeholders.

Completed double materiality

Throughout 2024/25, it developed its approach to Materiality Assessment by conducting its first Double Materiality Assessment (DMA). It compiled a longlist of Impacts, Risks and Opportunities (IROs) covering a wide range of ESG topics and hosted workshops with key internal stakeholders across Renewables, Flexible Generation, and Customer Solutions.

Recognised for responsible business

Dedicated to acting responsibly, one of its top priorities are employees, customers and communities. Its efforts have been recognised by its achievement as one of just 42 companies in Ireland to have been awarded the Business Working Responsibly Mark by Business in the Community.

Supplies electricity and gas

The Group supplies over 880,700 homes and businesses across the island of Ireland with electricity and gas, through its retail brands Energia and Power NI. It currently supplies approximately 13% of the island of Ireland’s total electricity requirements and is responsible for approximately 21% of wind power capacity installed on the island.
