Ellers Farm Distillery Sustainability Actions

Certified B Corporation

We became a Certified B Corp® in September 2023. As a B Corp, we’re part of a global community of businesses putting impacts on people and the planet on an equal footing with profit. We’re proud to have undertaken the rigorous certification process where every aspect of our company’s entire social and environmental performance was assessed.

Reduced corporate footprint

In 2023 corporate COâ‚‚ footprint (638t COâ‚‚) vs 2022 (839t COâ‚‚). Reducing in energy intensity and COâ‚‚ intensity per litre produced vs 2022.

Lighter recycled bottles

208t COâ‚‚ avoided to date thanks to our 40% lighter, 68 recycled brown bottles. From our iconic brown bottle, that is 40% lighter than the average spirits bottle and made from 68% post-consumer recycled glass, to our Alumini collection, that is infinitely recyclable and sourced from 100% post-consumer recycled European aluminium, we have optimised the weight, distance travelled and end-of-life management of our packaging materials.

Habitat restored

3ha habitat restored. Transforming the area around our distillery from scrubby pasture. By cultivating our own orchard next to our distillery, we’ve taken the first step in reducing our land and water footprints while restoring the ecosystems we rely on.

Living Wage and profit share

We’re proud to pay the real Living Wage, the only UK wage rate that is voluntarily paid by almost 10,000 UK businesses who believe their staff deserve a wage which meets everyday needs. That’s why we have a unique employee profit share deed that distributes 20% of our business profits among our employees.
