Donated backpacks for foster youth

Last week’s Working Wardrobes “Suit Up for Success” event and donation drive was one for the books. When Jessica Starr shared there was a critical backpack shortage, Doing Good Works supported the event and donated 150 backpacks for youth and young adults impacted by foster care.

Supported school readiness

These backpacks would be going directly into the hands of youth and young adults in Illumination Health + Home’s Children & Family Services Program to help prepare for school, employment, and long-term success.

Printed Be Kind on backpacks

It was made sure that the reminder, BE KIND, was printed on each backpack, to remind these students of the power of kindness that lives within each of them.

Worked with community partners

In partnership with the great people at Illumination Health + Home, the backpacks were going directly into the hands of youth and young adults in their Children & Family Services Program. The Orange County Department of Education was also mentioned as supporting the program.
