Cotopaxi Sustainability Actions

Met 3Rs materials commitment

In 2024, we achieved our biggest-ever sustainability goal at Cotopaxi—we met our 3Rs commitment. Now, 100% of Cotopaxi’s products contain materials that are either repurposed (using excess industry fabric), recycled, or responsibly certified (by a third party).

Launched materials roadmap

In response to accomplishing the 3Rs, we also launched our new Sustainable Product and Materials Roadmap, integrating advanced material sustainability, packaging standards, and circularity targets for our next 10 years of product development.

Eliminated intentionally added PFAS

Cotopaxi has eliminated intentionally added PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) from our products due to their persistence in the environment and potential human health impacts. As of 2024, Cotopaxi products contain no intentionally added PFAS.

Set emissions reduction targets

To reduce our carbon footprint, our Science Based Target initiative goals are: 1) Reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions 42% below 2022 levels by 2030; 2) Reduce absolute scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions 90% below 2022 levels by 2045.

Expanded repair and resale

In 2024, its secondhand sales saved roughly 4 metric tons of materials from being wasted and 43 metric tons of CO2 from being emitted, according to Cotopaxi. Cotopaxi also expanded the Guaranteed For Goodâ„¢ repair program, repairing 49% of items instead of replacing.
