Continent Clothing Sustainability Actions

Created full-time jobs

Since 2013 we have worked hard to provide as many full-time and sustainable job opportunities as possible in The Gambia and West Africa... Whilst making ridiculously colourful African streetwear of course! The great news is we have succeeded on both fronts! ... we have created over 40 full-time jobs for the local community!

Paid fair wages

All our tailors receive a minimum amount and they are paid per item. This equates to a at least of 3 times the average wage for every tailor. All Our Tailors Are Paid At Least 5 Times Their Previous Salaries. 100% Paid By Money Transfer.

Supported education and food

Their Children Get Educated. 100% of our tailors children attend school! Their Families Get Food. We know it sounds strange, but lots of Gambians face food insecurity! Our tailors and fabric merchants no longer face this problem.

Used local suppliers

26 Fabric Merchants. We buy from markets across the Gambia to spread our investment. We only shop local. We only buy from merchants who are Gambian-owned. This way we know our money is circulating into the local economy.

Reduced waste in production

Environmental sustainability it also very important to us. We have pledged to use biodegradable plastics for our online shipping. All bags in our shop and at our festivals are paper. We try to limit waste in fun and funky ways by making every last off-cut into either patchwork or earrings.

Trained and developed tailors

We Nurture & Develop Skills. Our aim is for the tailors to become completely financially independent! We offer training and support to all out tailors! 100% Of Our Tailors Say Their Skills Have Improved.
