Patented hydrothermal recycling

Circ is pioneering the transformation of blended fabrics, especially polycotton, into high-quality recycled fibers. Their innovative hydrothermal process enables the recovery of both polyester and cotton from fabrics that are traditionally difficult to recycle, offering a scalable solution for the fashion industry’s growing sustainability challenges.

Worked with leading brands

By partnering with leading brands such as Zara, Zalando, and Allbirds, Circ integrates its recycled fibers into commercial textile collections, supporting a circular economy and reducing the environmental impact of fashion production.

Developed industrial recycling plants

Circ’s industrial-scale polycotton recycling pilot plants are in development. Once up and running, the sites will allow apparel brands and Avery Dennison to recycle mixed textile waste streams, such as polyester-cotton blends, into high-quality cellulose-based or PET-based yarns for use in apparel production.

Worked with GEA on plant design

Circ is working with GEA for the monomer recovery process part. For Circ’s unique plant design, GEA made use of all its garnered experience in process design and took it several steps further with a new design space for crystallization.

Invested in textile traceability

Avery Dennison’s digital identification technologies and atma.io product cloud platform will provide the textile composition and supply chain data needed by fashion brands using the Circ facilities to recycle their textiles.

2028

France recycling plant

Circ is investing in large-scale infrastructure, including a $500 million recycling plant in France, set to process 70,000 metric tons of textile waste annually by 2028.

2025

Pilot recycled lyocell

For the 2025/2026 round, Circ is the first innovator in Fiber Club, and brands in the club will get access to Circ’s recycled lyocell, a fiber made from textile waste using a closed-loop process.

2025

Prototype in pilot collection

In 2025-2026, Zalando’s Private Labels will prototype Circ’s recycled lyocell in a pilot collection, ensuring product quality before market launch.
