Its sustainability position is built around reducing single-use plastic waste and encouraging everyday use of reusables. The company has described sustainability as being at the heart of the brand and has said it wants to be the market leader in sustainability. It is also a B Corp Certified company and has said it is measuring its footprint, including carbon emissions, water and chemical use, and waste, to understand its impact. Chilly’s has also launched recycling and take-back initiatives as part of its Responsibility Strategy.

Reusable bottle brand

Founded by James Butterfield in 2010, he started distributing reusable water bottles from home, and since then, the business has grown rapidly. Chilly’s is the purveyor of the Chilly’s Bottle, a modern, convenient alternative to single-use plastic water bottles, and the company has now expanded its merchandise offer to include a wider selection of reusable products.

Launched bottle take-back trial

Chilly's has just launched a new initiative where we're taking back ANY reusable bottle from ANY brand (excluding glass and ceramic) to recycle. This is building on our "always on" recycling scheme where we take back our own products - in June, we're taking back more than we make. Throughout June, we are trialling a trade in project to take back more than we make. This month we will accept your old, unloved or damaged bottles from any brand (excluding glass, ceramic and anything single use).

Built recycling scheme

This project builds on our normal recycling system where customers can send us our own products to recycle. As far as we've seen this is a first of its kind in the industry. We are taking back and recycling more than our own products.
