Capsule Sustainability Actions

Won ESG award in 2025

Capsule has been named winner of the ESG: Sustainability Initiative of the Year at the British Insurance Awards 2025, held at the Royal Albert Hall. The award recognises organisations that are embedding environmental and social responsibility into the way they work. Capsule was recognised for its ongoing commitment to sustainability across its operations, partnerships, and client support.

Planted over 1,000 trees

In 2023, Capsule expanded what it called the “Capsule Forest” in the Cotswolds for the second year running. With the help of Protect Earth, it planted over 1,000 trees. Capsule said the work contributes to projects such as flood risk reduction and improved air quality.

Volunteer days for staff

Every year, each member of team Capsule gets 10 volunteer days to support a cause close to their heart. In 2023, the team used volunteer time for environmental and social action, including work at Horsbere Nature Reserve, support for the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal, and mentorship programmes.

Nature reserve restoration work

Capsule staff visited Horsbere Nature Reserve to clear recently cut grass to make way for wildflower planting, then returned to finish the work by getting wildflower plug plants in the ground and sowing seeds. The team also cleared willow trees obstructing waterflow through the reserve’s overflow area.

B Corp and ESG focus

Capsule says it is a proud wearer of the B Corp badge and that ESG is “the way we do business.” Its business model was described as designed to do good, including becoming a B Corp and working with insurers to secure discounts for the ESG community.
