B Corp status since 2019

Blue Tit London has had B Corp status since 2019 and in 2024 it continues to strive and improve. Blue Tit is the first hairdressing salon group in Europe being awarded B Corp status for our efforts in minimising our environmental and social impact.

Switched to renewable energy

We have switched 90% of our energy use to renewable sources. Partnering with ClimateCare, we offset our carbon footprint while they invest in environmental and social impact initiatives.

Introduced waste tracking

We’ve introduced Eco-Heads in all our salons and started using First Mile for waste management, which helps us track our recycling and CO2 emissions.

Diversified workforce benefits

We aimed to diversify our workforce and establish enhanced staff benefits, including pension contributions, an employee assistance program, parental leave, a cycle-towork scheme, and free haircuts and colour services. We initiated training and education for textured hair and created an apprenticeship program.

Added refill stations

We have achieved a customer satisfaction rating of 4.9 from over 5,500 Google reviews. Additionally, we introduced refill stations at our salons to encourage customers to reduce single-use plastic bottles and minimise landfill waste.

Supported charities and communities

We contributed a day’s profit to UK charities, offered haircuts to the homeless, and supported the Woodland Trust and Indigenous People in the Amazon through our charity events. Additionally, we frequently donated to local fundraisers.

Uses Oway haircare products

Blue Tit is proud to be Global Creative Directors of organic, biodynamic botanical Italian haircare brand Oway. The innovative Oway range is packaged exclusively in glass and aluminium and is the world’s first professional hair care, treatment and the colour line made with pure essential oils, cruelty-free and with no toxic ingredients.

Uses biodegradable towels

Blue Tit uses 100% biodegradable towels, EcoHeads, and recycles over 90% of its waste and use recycled or up-cycled materials wherever possible in all our spaces.
