Arnotts Group (also refer to individual brands) Sustainability Commitments
2030
2030 sustainability targets
The Arnott’s Group says it has 2030 sustainability targets that guide its Source, Make, and Connect strategy. The company has not fully listed every target in one short public summary, but it says these goals are meant to improve sourcing, manufacturing, and community impact over time. This is a broad commitment to keep sustainability built into the business rather than treated as a side project.
2035
Source key ingredients sustainably
The group has committed to growing and sourcing 100% of key ingredients sustainably by 2035. It names flour, sugar, oils, dairy, and cocoa products as part of this goal. In simple terms, this means it wants the main ingredients used in its food to come from farming and supply systems that are managed more responsibly for people and the environment.
2040
Net zero in operations
Arnott’s has committed to reaching net-zero emissions in its own operations by 2040. Net zero means reducing emissions as much as possible and balancing the rest. The company says it is working on renewable electricity and other changes at its manufacturing sites to move toward this target.
2050
Net zero across the value chain
The company has also committed to net-zero emissions across its value chain by 2050. The value chain includes suppliers, manufacturing, transport, and other parts of the business outside its own sites. This is a wider and harder target because it covers emissions linked to the full life of its products.
2025
Cut plastic packaging
Arnott’s has committed to reducing, reusing, or repurposing plastic packaging in Australia and New Zealand by 10% by 2025. It also said it aims to meet Australia’s 2025 National Packaging Targets. These targets are meant to push companies to use less packaging, make it easier to recycle, and reduce waste.
2024
Reach full ARL coverage
The company said it aimed to put the Australasian Recycling Label on 100% of its product portfolio by 2024. The Australasian Recycling Label tells shoppers how to sort packaging for recycling in Australia and New Zealand. This commitment is about making disposal instructions clearer for consumers.
2023
Shift soft plastics to mono-material
Arnott’s said it would transition its soft plastic packaging portfolio in Australia and New Zealand to mono-material by the end of 2023. Mono-material packaging uses one main material, which can make recycling easier. The company said this change would also remove about 9 tonnes of plastic from the environment each year.
