AIGUASOL Sustainability Actions

District cooling study in Costa Rica

With the support of the GGI (Global Green Growth Institute) and the ICE (Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad) as beneficiary, Aiguasol, in collaboration with Devcco, is driving the development of district cooling networks to tackle the environmental impacts associated with this growing challenge. It assessed the technical and economic feasibility of district cooling systems in ICE’s building complex.

Designed a DC system for San José

Aiguasol designed a DC system adapted to the needs of the urban and climate context of San José.

Studied surplus energy use

It studied the use and commercialization of surplus energy on the grid, adding a circular approach to the system.

Trained ICE technical staff

Aiguasol provided technical training to ICE’s staff through intensive workshops led by its expert Aleksandar Ivancic, Senior Consultant at Aiguasol.
