Abatable Sustainability Actions

Built carbon sourcing network

Abatable has built up direct access to one of the world’s largest networks of carbon projects, built through tracking 95% of the market and over 3,200 project developers and 8,500 projects. Our network, built over eight years, captures lesser-known opportunities and also contains a select group of projects we have assessed as integrity leaders through our in-house assessment framework.

Launched procurement solution

Over the past three years, we’ve procured more than 55M tonnes for our clients, from corporates to global sporting events and everyone in between. That experience has helped refine our approach, and we’ve integrated our award-winning platform, intelligence tools, and advisory team into a single procurement solution for companies at any stage of their sustainability journey.

Supported Howden portfolio

Abatable partnered with Howden to create a robust carbon procurement programme, combining emissions compensation and contribution approaches to deliver a risk-mitigated and resilient carbon credit portfolio. Abatable worked with Howden throughout the entire procurement process to design and deliver a diversified portfolio that supports credible climate impact today while helping to scale the solutions needed for the future.

Published carbon reporting guidance

In this final article in the series, we turn our attention to the final step in the process of building your carbon procurement strategy, reporting, and monitoring. We are seeing mandatory disclosure rules around carbon credits emerging across the world. In the European Union, the Commission is in the process of adopting standards for the EU’s mandatory ESG reporting regime, the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), that will also cover disclosures on companies’ use of carbon credits (including as emission offsets) and their quality.

Outlined biodiversity action

We at Abatable spend a lot of time focused on climate change, but it is by no means the sole thing we think about when it comes to environmental sustainability. Indeed, the natural world is inherently entwined in all our work. We outline the importance of biodiversity for businesses and set out how companies can move from understanding risks, to setting targets, to taking action.
