Launched 2030 ESG plan

Set science-based climate targets

The company said it had set science-based targets for Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions. Scope 1 covers direct emissions from its own operations, Scope 2 covers purchased energy, and Scope 3 covers emissions across the wider value chain, such as suppliers and product use. It also said it would reach net zero greenhouse gas emissions across its own operations by 2030 and across the wider value chain by 2050. It committed to the Science Based Targets initiative, a group that checks whether climate targets match climate science.

Linked ESG to pay and suppliers

The plan said ESG objectives would be built into employee rewards and supplier objectives. That means sustainability goals would affect how staff are assessed and how suppliers are managed. The company also said it would use a new sustainability-linked loan, which is a loan whose terms can depend on meeting set sustainability goals.
